People don't make apps because the original way was flawed. They make apps so you can reach specific things a lot easier. Instead of using a web browser, the application takes you there straight away. Clearly you never heard of the App store for the iPhone where there are tons of apps like this for everything.
Waterboy I own a high-end PC and a PS3. I play Crysis on ultrahigh settings with a steady 60 fps and trust me.. Crysis looks better than KZ2.
Hey now.. Killzone ok. But Uncharted had a lot more than just graphics. The overal experience is what makes it a fantastic game.

You are completely missing the point. This isn't about a faulty piece of device. This is about releasing a console with a high failure rate, denying the flaw at first, admitting it, releasing a new improved version of the console, saying the issue is something of the past and STILL watching it happen.
This is about not fixing a well known error which could, with a little time and patience, easily be fixed, thus saving MS MILLIONS of money on this issue.
